To Blog or Not to Blog...

To blog or not to blog; this is the question that has been brought about in the first quarter of US history honors; rhetorically speaking that is. The system of blogging rather than writing assignments via pen and paper is a major innovation that has been made in the education system. To me this is an obvious and needed innovation. We are in the 21st century, so why not take full advantage of the technological advances that have been made. If we sit around writing all our work with a quill, what good does that do us. We will always have to use paper and ink, however we need to become accustom to using the mediums of expression that are available to us in the new age of technology.

I fully agree with the blogging assessment used in this class for that reason. Not only are we being taught about history and independently learning and writing about the information needed in the class. But we are also learning how to use a new medium of expression that is a blog. Being able to understand what a blog is, and how it works will help us later in life. No matter what the job we have, it will be vital that we understand fully how to use the technology that is presented to us. That is what the US history class is doing for us.

Without the blogging system in this class, i feel that our teacher would be doing a injustice to us. By not teaching us, and allowing us to express ourselves via the mediums that are available to us in this the 21st century, teachers are forcing us to remain in the past. We have to be ready for the future. The blogging system is preparing us for the future that lies ahead of us.

Without blogging, not only would the students in this class be worse off for the future, but in all honesty, i believe that less work would get done. Students are more apt to do there work when it is different and interesting. The blogging system offers students a new and interesting way to express themselves. Students are presented with a whole new medium to do so.

All in all i agree with the blogging system used in this class. I believe that it offers students a new and exciting way to go about their work. At the same time i believe that it is a great way to incorporate technology into the classroom. The blogging system should stay.
